1080 Web pages go live

A number of Web pages providing information on aerial 1080 operations went live on the ERMA New Zealand website in March.

The Web pages, at www.ermanz.govt.nz/1080, include information on best practice, operational reports and the annual report.

In 2007, the Environmental Risk Management Authority completed an extensive review of the use of 1080 for pest control in New Zealand.

In the decision to approve its continued use, the Authority recommended a new management regime, including the setting up of a Watch List to monitor and report aerial 1080 operations, and improved communication and consultation around aerial operations.

ERMA New Zealand's annual report on the aerial use of 1080 communications guideline cover ERMA New Zealand 1080 Coordinator Greg Kent says the Web pages include reports and maps of 1080 operations, and are being updated regularly as new information comes to hand.

The Web pages also include ERMA New Zealand's annual report on the aerial use of 1080 – which details research developments since the 2007 decision and 1080-related incidents – and a communications guideline.
