Notified Application Pathway

A notified application is one which is categorised as having significant public interest. Receipt of such applications must be 'publicly notified', in which case a six-week submission period is open to all members of the public.

Public notification involves a summary statement being advertised through an alert in the major daily newspapers, on our website, in "The Bulletin", and by directly notifying people who have indicated to us that they wish to be advised of particular types of applications.

A public hearing of an application would be held if any party signals that they wish to be 'heard', or if the decision-making committee thinks it is necessary.
