What is the Yearly Chemical Review?
Each year, a number of chemicals are reassessed. This is done to align New Zealand chemical classifications with those internationally, and to update information on chemicals and add or remove controls if required. The annual review also improves compliance by letting people know what’s happening and how they can be part of the process. This includes making submissions as appropriate.
What can be reviewed?
Some of the chemicals to be reviewed each year are added to the list as a result of classification inquiries throughout the year from users and businesses. Others are added by staff at ERMA New Zealand after receiving new information, particularly from overseas.
