The Environmental Risk Management Authority has issued group standards for photographic chemicals.
These group standards are issued in accordance with the requirements of Part 6A of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act 1996. The group standards came into force on 1 July 2006.
The Photographic Chemicals Group Standards have been created for products that are used within the photographic industry. This includes developers, bleaches, fixing agents, rinses, stabilisers, drying aids, replenishers, starters, reversing agents, neutralisers, accelerators, desensitisers, anti-fogging agents and any other substances used to produce a permanent photographic image.
