Group Standards for Not Otherwise Specified (N.O.S.) Substances

The Environmental Risk Management Authority has issued group standards for substances that are not otherwise specified (N.O.S.).

These group standards are issued in accordance with the requirements of Part 6A of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act 1996. The group standards came into force on 1 July 2006.

The Not Otherwise Specified (N.O.S.) Substances Group Standards have been created for the notified toxic substances (NOTS) that do not fit within the scope of any other product-specific group standard. They have been created for the purpose of transferring these products only, and cannot be used as an approval for a new hazardous substance.
