Amendments to Compressed Gas Mixtures Group Standards

ERMA New Zealand is consulting on proposed amendments to the Compressed Gas Mixtures Group Standards.

As the proposed amendments are considered to be of a technical nature, the consultation period has been reduced to 10 working days and submissions must be received before 5pm Wednesday 22 October 2008.

There are two amendments proposed:

  1. To remove the clause within each group standard which excludes substances from the conditions of the group standard if those substances are contained within refrigeration systems.
    ERMA New Zealand proposes that this clause be removed from the Group Standards to clarify that refrigerating systems are not covered by the Group Standards, but that the gas contained within such systems is.
  2. To add the definition of LPG to the Compressed Gas Mixtures (Flammable) Group Standard).
    It will make the document more user-friendly and informative to include the definition of LPG within the Group Standards.

 

The public consultation is carried out in accordance with Part 6A of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act 1996.
